Michael heads the firm’s dispute resolution practice. He represents Chinese and international clients in commercial arbitration under CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC and ICC rules, and in litigation before Chinese courts at all levels.
A significant part of Michael’s practice involves enforcing foreign arbitral awards and judgments in China, and Chinese awards abroad. He also advises clients at the contract stage — helping them choose dispute resolution clauses that will actually work when tested.
Michael appears on the panels of several arbitration commissions and teaches cross-border dispute resolution as an adjunct lecturer. Clients rely on him for straight strategic advice: where a case stands, what it will really cost, and when to settle.
